Covid-19

Online

Whilst the public health situation is improving in relation to Covid-19, we are currently at a delicate time as lockdown restrictions are relaxed. Consequently, we will continue with our online operation until October 2020 half-term when we will review the situation once again. We are confident that the quality of our provision has not been detrimentally impacted by the move to online tuition and, in many ways, we think it’s been improved. Feedback from our students indicates that they would agree.

Safety

When we re-open our learning base, we will be fully committed to the safety of our students, parents and staff. Some students may wish to remain online but for those who would benefit more from in-person contact, especially primary-aged children and young people involved in coaching, there will new practices implemented to support high levels of hygiene.

Measures will include:

  • A no charge policy for late cancellations caused by a student or parent developing Covid symptoms.

  • Social distancing.

  • Hand-sanitising on entry and exit.

  • No physical sharing of resources and equipment. Students to bring own equipment.

  • Surfaces and other points of contact, including bathroom facilities, cleaned between appointments.

  • Windows opened, where appropriate, to aide ventilation.

  • Outside tuition to be considered when the weather is warm and fine.

  • As our students know, we always offer a drink and a biscuit to them on arrival. In the short-term, we would suspend this but promise to make up for it when the situation has improved further.

Youth Theatre

There are no immediate plans to hold in-person youth theatre sessions. Drama is a group activity that is close contact, active and best when shared in close proximity. The thought of a socially-distant drama class goes against the very spirit of the activity.

Our GCSE Drama course will operate online for the Autumn Term (Sept - Dec 2020), dealing with the theoretical aspects of the qualification.
